A tuna group built in Manta, serving the world
Eurofish S.A. started operations in 1998 with three fishing vessels and a plant cooking 50 MT of tuna loins a day. Today the group runs 21 vessels, processes up to 76,800 MT a year and ships to Europe, Asia and the Americas — with a Colombian office for direct regional service.
A plant organised around food safety
The Manta facility runs canning, pouch and pre-cooked frozen loin lines under BRCGS, IFS Food, HACCP and BASC certification. Kosher production is available, and the plant holds Dolphin Safe approval for its tuna sourcing.
Our laboratory releases every lot: more than 400 daily histamine and salt analyses, plus moisture, pH, fat, protein and ash determinations, sensory panels, net and drained weight control and a microbiology lab validating raw material, process and finished product.
Cold storage capacity reaches 11,000 MT, and the Transmarina unit extends the chain to -60 °C — the only ultra-low-temperature operation of its kind in South America.

Almost three decades of growth
Operations begin in Manta with 3 fishing vessels and a plant cooking 50 MT of pre-cooked frozen tuna loins per day.
Canned tuna production starts, opening retail and food service markets.
The portfolio diversifies into pouches, mainly for European and US customers.
Packaging and storage facilities expand; annual processing capacity reaches 31,000 MT.
The group builds its dedicated pet food plant in Montecristi; the fleet grows to 21 vessels and the national brand Manabí launches.
Offices open in Colombia; first Ecuadorian exporter of wet cat food to the UK; supplying international brands across Europe, Latin America and North America.

Responsible fishing and clean production
Eurofish participates in the TUNACONS fishery improvement project alongside WWF Ecuador, working toward MSC-standard certification for the Eastern Pacific purse-seine fleet, and complies with Dolphin Safe monitoring across its tuna supply.
On shore, the company invested USD 2.5 million in an industrial wastewater treatment plant and reports under the UN Global Compact. Social programmes earned the group Great Place to Work recognition in Latin America.
Audited under international standards
Quality, food safety, security and sustainability certifications cover both human food and pet food plants.
